<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which has a simple circuit configuration and can thin out dots between edges of image data while emphasizing the edges. <P>SOLUTION: According to the configuration of the image forming device, an ordinary video signal is generated at timing based on a horizontal synchronizing signal and a video clock signal. An edge signal consists of a first edge generated by detecting a change of the ordinary video signal, and a second edge generated by detecting a next change of the ordinary video signal. Then a horizontal thinning video signal is obtained from a logical sum of the edge signal and a horizontal thinning pattern signal. The edge signal is generated by detecting the change of the ordinary video signal by a flip-flop and by resetting the flip-flop by a carry signal of a counter. Further a value preset in an edge dot count register is an initial value of the counter, and by adjusting the timing for generating a carry of the counter, the width of the edge is adjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
