A 3-D shape measuring apparatus for auto-grinding equipment of an LCD color filter is provided to measure the 3-D shape without sufficient textures for restoring the 3-D shape by irradiating light passed through a filter on the LCD color filter. A 3-D shape measuring apparatus for auto-grinding equipment of an LCD color filter measures the 3-D shape of the LCD color filter by obtaining several sheets of image sequences along an optic axis of a CCD camera, and irradiates light through a filter printed with a pattern on the LCD color filter, which is a measuring object. The pattern of the filter is an array of pixels of a lattice shape. The 3-D shape measuring apparatus for the auto-grinding equipment of the LCD color shape includes a microscope for magnifying an image, the CCD camera for photographing the image magnified by the microscope, an image processing apparatus for restoring the 3-D shape from the photographed image, and a monitor for displaying the processed image, a motor driver for generating a control signal to move a stage to a Z axis, and a step motor for moving the stage by the motor driver.
