A method of additive manufacturing for producing three-dimensional objects with one or more colors through light exposure comprises the steps of: (A) providing an additive manufacturing process, wherein the additive manufacturing process uses a photosensitive fabrication material to fabricate a physical object; (B) providing a light source activation algorithm, wherein the light source activation algorithm correlates at least one activation parameter of a light source with one of a plurality of producible colors for the photosensitive printing material; (C) designating a desired color for a specified portion of the photosensitive fabrication material, wherein the desired color is one of the producible colors; (D) inputting the desired color and at least one photosensitive property of the photosensitive fabrication material into the light source activation algorithm in order to output at least one activation parameter for the desired color; and (E) exposing the specified portion of the photosensitive fabrication material to the light source by activating the light source according to the at least one activation parameter for the desired color during the additive manufacturing process.
