PURPOSE:To aim at miniaturizing the attaching section of an electromagnetically operated fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into an intake-air fuel injection passage, by providing a nozzle body and a needle valve in the upstream side end part of a solenoid coil so that fuel is injected into a hollow iron core formed therein with radiation fins. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection valve 2 attached to an intake-air supply passage 1 in an engine has a hollow iron core 4 made of ferromagnetic materials in a valve casing 3. Further, when a solenoid coil 5 wound around the iron core 4 is energized, a magnetic attraction force is effected so that a contact pole 6 is moved overcoming a spring 10, and therefore, a needle valve 8 is lifted from a valve seat part 11 to establish a valve opening condition. In this arrangement, a nozzle body 7 is provided in the iron core 4 in the upstream section of the solenoid coil 5, and is fitted therein with the needle valve 8. Further, radiator fins 15 are formed in the iron core 4 so that heat generated from the solenoid coil 5 is dissipated outside. Thereby it is possible to miniaturize the attaching part of a fuel injection valve and to stabilize fuel injection.
