INK CARTRIDGE FOR REPLACEMENT TYPE INK JET

PURPOSE:To provide an ink cartridge for a replacement type ink jet by which ink is stably supplied to an ink jet recording head. CONSTITUTION:The holding part 4 of a negative pressure-generating member is provided with an ink supply opening 2 and an atmosphere-communicating hole 10. An ink supply pipe connected to an ink-jet recording head is inserted into the ink supply opening 2. The holding part 4 contains the negative pressure- generating member 3 which absorbs and holds ink for recording. The negative pressure generating-member 3 is held between the internal wall surfaces of the holding part 4. Ink is supplied to the recording head by inserting the ink supply pipe into the ink supply opening 2. The ink supply pipe has outside diameter larger than half of the interval between the internal wall surfaces for holding the negative pressure-generating member 3.
