PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To knit a thin and high-density knitted fabric difficult to knit by a conventional method by using a stitch transferring needle in either a dial or a cylindrier of a circular knitting machine and setting an ordinary needle having no stitch transferring function at a double density in the other. SOLUTION: In a double knit circular knitting machine, a stitch transferring needle S is used in either of a first needle bed (dial) and a second needle bed (cylinder) and an ordinary needle 4 having no stitch transferring function is set at a double density in the other. This method for knitting a high-density knitted fabric comprises repeating a zone A being a stitch transferring preparation part for raising the ordinary needle 4 having no stitch transferring function to a tuck position in advance and opening a latch part, a zone B being a stitch transferring and knitting part for transferring the loop of the first needle bed through a shaking mechanism to the second needle bed, a zone C equipped with a latch opener 5 of the second needle bed for opening the latch after transferring stitch and a zone D being a knitting part equipped with a latch opener 6 of the first needle bed.
