PURPOSE:To prevent production of vibration due to a cutting force, by a method wherein the axial angles of at least one positive and one negative tip each of plural tips mounted at positive and negative angles are set to a value different from those of other tips. CONSTITUTION:Tip mounting seats 2... and tip mounting tips 3... are alternately formed on the outer periphery of a cutter body 1, and a tip 4 is mounted to each of them. In which case, the tips 4 at the mounting seats 2... and 3... are mounted at positive and negative axial angles with a reference end surface 10 of the cutter body 1. Further, a distance between cut blades 8 and 8 of the adjoining tips 4 and 4 is continuously changed from the tips of the cut blades 8 and 8 toward the rear ends thereof. This constitution produces the irregular magnitude of a cutting force exerted on the cutter body 1 and the irregular period of vibration generated during cutting, and prevents vibration, having a regular period, from being produced at the cutter body 1.
