<p>PURPOSE: To efficiently look deep into the cause of a collision accident, regard ing a vehicle equipped with a distance measuring device for measuring the relative position of a target, using an electromagnetic wave. CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a distance measuring means 11 mounted on a vehicle for transmitting an electromagnetic wave repeatedly, receiving the reflected wave thereof from a target and then measuring the relative distance of the target on the basis of a correlation between both waves, and a memory means 13 having a non-volatile memory area. Furthermore, the device is equipped with a storage control means 15 for reading the relative distance measured with the means 11 and logging the distance in the memory area of the means 13, an acceleration measuring means 17 for measuring the acceleration of the vehicle, and a log preservation means 19 for making a comparison between the acceleration measured with the means 17 and the preset threshold value and preventing the log from being updated, depending on a magnitude relationship between the measured and preset acceleration values.</p> |
