The grinding ball (6) has multiple spherical caps (14) for forming a spherical form. A central body (13) is provided in the grinding body, and is connected with the spherical caps. The grinding ball lies on the central body. The spherical cap fully covers a surface of the central body, which is a hollow body. The central body is conducted as welded construction.
