PURPOSE:To project a Hi-Vision video signal on all of the screen of normal television receiver without a sense of incompatibility. CONSTITUTION:A deflecting circuit 1 which is controlled by the video signal to deflect an electron beam is connected to a pair of horizontal deflecting coils. A correction capacitor 5 is connected in series to a deflecting coil 2 in the deflect,ing circuit 1, and a changeover switch 50 is provided between the deflecting coil 2 and the correction capacitor 5. When the Hi-Vision video signal is received, the changeover switch 50 is turned off, and the horizontal deflecting current has an S-shaped waveform because the time constant of the deflecting coil 2 and the capacitor is reduced. The electron beam is deflected by this deflecting current to project the picture, which has a normal center part and has both end parts compressed, on the screen. |
