摘要 PURPOSE: To provide an operation control device by which transmission of a switching shock to a car body at cylinder switching time is restrained to the possible minimum level while securing a fuel consumption reducing effect by cylinder resting operation. CONSTITUTION: When an engine 1 is switched to cylinder resting operation from whole cylinder operation, after an ISC is opened and driven first of all, an ECU 26 outputs a cylinder resting signal SMD to a TCU 34. Then, the TCU 34 reduces the driving duty ratio of a solenoid valve 62, and reduces direct coupling pressure of a damper clutch 48. The ECU 26 also stops a valve moving mechanism after fuel injection of a resting cylinder is stopped when a prescribed time passes after the cylinder resting signal SMD is outputted. In this case, since the damper clutch 48 transfers to slip direct coupling or non-direct coupling, a switching shock is absorbed by a torque converter 31. After switching of cylinders is finished, the TCU 34 again restores the damper clutch 48 to ordinary control, and secures a fuel consumption reducing effect by cylinder resting operation.
