<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TFT liquid crystal display device such that a thin-film transistor array substrate and a color filter substrate can securely be bonded together in parallel, and a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The TFT liquid crystal display device comprises the thin-film transistor array substrate, the color filter substrate, a spacer separating the thin-film transistor array substrate and color filter substrate at a specified interval, a continuous wall-shaped sealing peripheral wall which sections a space formed between the thin-film transistor array substrate and color filter substrate from the outer side to form a liquid crystal charged part in the space, and liquid crystal which is charged in the liquid crystal charged part; and a plurality of rectangular grooves where an insulating layer is exposed are formed in, and nearby and below a sealed area, which is within the maximum range of a part of the thin-film transistor array substrate that a bottom surface of the sealing peripheral wall comes into contact with, and the rectangular grooves are so formed that the length of a long side exceeds the width of the sealing peripheral wall and the length of the long side crosses the length direction of the sealing peripheral wall. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
