The method involves discharging an exhaust gas mass flow. Two exhaust pipes (4',4'') are provided, where two exhaust gas turbo chargers (6,7) are connected parallel to one another. A turbine (6a) of the former exhaust pipe and another turbine (7a) of the former exhaust pipe are arranged by the exhaust gas turbo chargers. The later exhaust pipe is connected to the former exhaust pipe, where size of the later turbine influences the supplied exhaust gas mass flow. Speed of the former turbine is increased by switching on the later turbine.
