<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor thermal recording medium which has a high sensitivity and excellent color separation properties. <P>SOLUTION: The multicolor thermal recording medium has a first thermal coloring layer provided on a substrate and containing a dye precursor coloring in black and a developer, and also has a second thermal coloring layer provided on the first thermal coloring layer and containing a dye precursor having a coloring hue different from the color tone of the first thermal coloring layer and the developer. In the second thermal coloring layer, a thermally fusible constituent having specific characteristics is contained.
