Provided is a method for recovering a catalyst wherein a solution containing a reaction mixture, which is obtained by performing a hydrogenation reaction in the presence of a platinum group element-containing catalyst, is brought into contact with a fiber membrane that has a group containing an amino group or a thiol group on the surface, thereby recovering the platinum group element contained in the solution.
