PURPOSE:To properly refill paper to prevent the interruption of a printing action by a method wherein whether a paper feed action is normal or abnormal is monitored by detecting sproket holes of continuous paper, and a residual sheet number is indicated if an abnormal paper feed is judged. CONSTITUTION:Continuous paper 5 with sproket holes is mounted on a printer, and the printer is started. When a length A for a sheet of paper, an initial sheet number B, a pitch C of sproket holes 5a..., and the like are inputted from an input device 2, these data are stored in a memory circuit 8 and outputted to an arithmetic circuit 10, in which the number of holes for a sheet of paper is calculated to be stored in the memory circuit 8. Printing is started, and the paper 5 is successively fed. The sproket holes 5a... are detected by a detector 7, and a counter 9 counts a hole number E. In the arithmetic circuit 10, a theoretical paper feed amount G, a residual sheet number F, and an actual paper feed amount H are calculated. In a comparison circuit 12, the values G and H are compared with each other. If the both are not coincident, a central processing unit 13 judges the existence of an abnormal paper feed and makes an error warning device 15 issue a warning. |
