<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a magnetic field detection part closely to a detection body and to accurately detect the position of the detection body while miniaturizing a device and lowering costs. <P>SOLUTION: The position detector 1 comprises: a first magnetic field generation part 2 provided with at least one magnetic field generation coil for generating a first magnetic field for a detection space S where the detection body 3 with a circuit including at least one built-in coil 3a is disposed; a magnetic field detection part 4 provided with a plurality of detection coils 4a arrayed so as to detect an induction magnetic field generated from the built-in coil 3a by the generated first magnetic field; and a second magnetic field generation part 6 provided with at least one magnetic field generation coil with the magnetic field components of an almost opposite phase for generating a second magnetic field for the first magnetic field generated by the first magnetic field generation part 2 and made incident on the detection coils 4a.
