<p>A printing template which comprises a stored data set of dot positions for printing an array of dots (6) onto a substrate (2), which incorporates a security zone (4) in which zone dots in the array are laterally displaced relative to a background zone (3). There is further incorporated a transition zone (5) at the boundary between the security zone and the background zone, in which zone the extent of displacement of the print dots undergoes a progressive increase from a minimally displaced position at an edge of the transition zone adjacent to the background zone to an essentially fully displaced position at an edge of the transition zone adjacent to the security zone. A printed article and printing template and method for their preparation are also described.</p> |
