PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power tool in which the exposure part of a brush cap is prevented from over-heating without bringing about missing of any component in replacing the carbon brush or increase in the number of component parts, and the operations are conducted stably and continuously without generating any sense of incongruity even if the operation touches the brush cap. SOLUTION: The power tool is structured so that a motor 2 consisting of an armature 2a and stator 2b is built in a housing 1, a cooling fan 5 and a commutator 6 are installed on the armature 2a, a carbon brush 8 in slide contact with the commutator 6 and a brush holder 9 to hold the brush 8 are arranged on the way of an air duct 7 in the housing 1, and that the opening of the brush holder 9 is covered with a brush cap 10 screwed fast to the housing 1 removably, wherein the head part of the brush cap 10 exposed to the outer surface of the housing 1 is covered with a heat insulating layer 19.
