A solar panel system performance monitoring system comprises a measurement arrangement configured for providing a yield measurement of a solar panel system and comprises an irradiance sensor for providing a solar irradiance measurement at the solar panel system. The solar panel system comprising one or more photovoltaic solar panels and yields an electric current and electric voltage upon solar irradiance of the solar panel(s). The yield measurement of the solar panel system comprises an electric current measurement of the electric current, an electric voltage measurement of the electric voltage and/or an electric power measurement of the electric power yielded by the solar panel system. The monitoring system further comprises a data analysis center configured for receiving and evaluating the yield measurement and the solar irradiance measurement by comparing the yield measurement with a predetermined yield of the solar panel system for the solar irradiance measurement so as to provide a performance indication of the solar panel system. |
