PROCESSES FOR PRODUCING COLOR FILTER AND FOR PRODUCING LIQUID-CRYSTAL DISPLAY

[PROBLEMS] To provide a process for producing a color filter with an ink-jet ink excellent in rectilinear flight and stability after discharge from a head, the process being able to impart a high color purity and color reproducibility; and a liquid-crystal display employing a color filter produced by the process. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A color filter is produced by: applying a pigment dispersion selectively to partitioned areas in a surface of a transparent insulation base by an ink-jet printing technique (pigment dispersion application step); subsequently applying a transparent resin solution selectively to the partitioned areas by an ink-jet printing technique to mix the pigment dispersion with the transparent resin solution within each partitioned area and form a liquid mixture layer (transparent-resin-solution application step); and then curing the liquid mixture layer formed in the preceding step (curing step).
