PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device displaying images with diversity.SOLUTION: The image display device includes a transmissive liquid crystal panel 550e capable of displaying an image by using a surface light-emitting plate as a backlight. The surface light-emitting plate includes a first light source (light guide upper decorative substrate 550d1) that radiates light in a first direction (from an upper part) on a side of a light guide plate 550d and a second light source (light guide plate left decorative substrate 550d5) that radiates light in a second direction on the side of the light guide plate. The light guide plate includes a first light emission region 550d4 that emits light when irradiated with light from the first light source and a second light emission region 550d5 that emits light when irradiated with light from the second light source. When light emission modes by the first light source and the second light source are switched from one to the other by light emission switching means, images partially visible on a part of the display panel are switched.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
