The load detection circuit drives an induction heating cooker at one milisecond after the zero-crossing of input power so that a starting circuit is ignited under the stable condition. The circuit includes a comparator (CP1) for comparing output voltage level of an input current detector to a reference voltage, a bridge diode (BD2) for rectifying input AC voltage, a zero-crossing detector (8) for detecting zero-crossing of input voltage, a delay (9) for delaying zero-crossing detection signal of the zero-crossing detector, a starter (3) for generating system start signal when output signals of the comparator and the delay (9) are all high.
