PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member in which, when magnesium-alloy members are subjected to frictional sliding with each other under lubricating-oil environments, the occurrence of wear and damage and further seizure/adhesion phenomena can be prevented and excellent follow-up property and oil pressure/oil flow rate controlling effect can be produced by the reduction of friction coefficient. SOLUTION: A valve 1 has: a valve casing 2 having an oil inflow passage 2a and an oil outflow passage 2b; and a valve spool 3 reciprocatingly sliding in the valve casing 2 in the direction of arrow A. The valve casing 2 is composed of cast magnesium alloy, and the valve spool 3 is composed of non-cast magnesium alloy. The valve spool 3 composed of non-cast magnesium alloy contains magnesium silicide particles 11, magnesium oxide particles 12 and graphite particles 13 in a matrix 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
