<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To return quickly from a power-saving mode to a status ready for performing printing. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: an engine 2 for printing an image on a sheet of recording paper in accordance with an image data; and a main CPU 10 for managing control of a printing executing operation regarding the engine 2 and the entire image forming apparatus. When the apparatus is in a STR mode in which an electricity supply to the engine 2 and to the main CPU 10 is terminated, a sub CPU 21 monitors generation of a resuming factor from the STR mode, and in the case where the generation of the resuming factor is detected, the sub CPU 21 requests the engine 2 to conduct resume operation from the STR mode and to set a mode for the engine before resuming the main CPU 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
