<p>Disclosed is a method for easily producing a photochromic optical article wherein a photochromic coating layer exhibiting photochromism is formed on an optical base such as a plastic lens. The photochromic optical article is excellent in optical characteristics and photochromic characteristics, and also excellent in adhesion between the base and the photochromic layer. The method enables to easily produce such a photochromic optical article by improving wettability of a photochromic coating agent for a primer. In this method, a primer layer is formed on the optical base surface by coating the optical base surface with a primer composed of an emulsion wherein a urethane resin is colloidally dispersed in a dispersion medium, and then a photochromic layer is formed on the primer layer, thereby producing a photochromic optical article.</p> |
