摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery excellent in cycle characteristics and low-temperature output characteristics, and a battery component capable of providing the battery.SOLUTION: There are provided: a slurry composition for a secondary battery negative electrode; a method for producing the slurry composition; a negative electrode obtained using the slurry composition; and a secondary battery. The slurry composition includes silicon-containing compound particles, a water-soluble polymer and water. The water-soluble polymer has a viscosity in a 1% aqueous solution thereof of 1-10,000 mPa s, the water has an ionic conductivity of 1,000 μS/cm or less, the percentage content of chloride ions in the slurry composition is 0.001-0.1 wt.%, and the particle size of the silicon-containing compound particles when the particles begin to appear is 30 μm or less, the particle size being measured on the basis of dispersion degree according to the grind (fineness) gauge method defined in JIS K5600-2-5.
