PURPOSE: A structure of a plasma display panel is provided to prevent sputtered materials from being scattered from a cathode, and to be used for both AC and DC. CONSTITUTION: A DC electrode consists of anodes(110) and cathodes. The anodes are formed with stripe shape on a front panel(100). The cathodes(130) are formed with stripe shape on a dielectric layer of a rear panel(120) to be orthogonal to the anodes. An AC electrode consists of two memory plates(140) of grid shape which are formed between the front panel and rear panel. Barrier ribs(150) higher than the cathode are formed on the rear panel between the cathodes, and are contacted with the lower part of the memory plates and the upper part of the rear panel. Therefore, the cathodes on the rear panel are embedded so that the sputtered materials can be prevented from being scattered.
