The method involves determining consistency of a fuel mixture e.g. petrol/ethanol-fuel mixture, from an ignition angle with which straight engine knocking does not arise, where fuel mixtures of different consistency exhibit different anti-knock properties. Quantities of air and fuel supplied to an internal-combustion engine are adjusted during an adjustment of the ignition angle in such a way that an essentially constant torque at a crankshaft is produced. |
