摘要 Embodiments provide techniques for optimizing link failure convergence for Resilient Ethernet Protocol (REP) networks. Embodiments include monitoring for link failure events within the REP environment. Additionally, upon determining, at a first network switch within the REP environment, that a link failure event has occurred within the REP environment, embodiments include transmitting a Hardware Flood Layer (HFL) notification data packet specifying a Time-to-Live (TTL) value of 2 to a second network switch within the REP environment and purging contents of a Media Access Control (MAC) table on the first network switch.
