PURPOSE:To make the wall thickness thinner and the density larger respectively so as to increase the bending elastic modulus of an air bag retainer by manufacturing the retainer from a mixture of fibrillated fiber resin and pulp fiber to be obtained from liquid crystal resin and thermoplastic resin and, which is processed for paper making, then dried up, and thereafter heated and pressurized in a metal mold. CONSTITUTION:Liquid crystal resin and thermoplastic resin are extruded and formed into fibrillated fiber resign, 20-80wt.% in fiber resin and 80-20wt.% in pulp fiber are diffused and mixed in the water and then papermaking is carried out. After being dried up, it is heated and pressurized at a temperature of more than a melting point of this thermoplastic resin in a metal mold and molded into a desired air bag retainer 1. Since the fibrillated fiber resin and the pulp fiber are moldable in a state of being fully intertwined, wall thickness is made yet thinner and density is enlargeable, and thus a bending elastic modulus can be increased. |
