The method involves converting user speech entered at terminal position into an electrical speech signal, transmitting the signal via a medium for sending television signals to the terminal arrangement to a television system head end and feeding it to a central station that evaluates the signal using a speech recognition system and transmits a corresponding signal back to the terminal arrangement depending on the speech recognition result result. The method involves converting a spoken utterance of the user at the terminal (1) position into an electrical speech signal, transmitting the speech signal via a transmission medium (4) for sending television signals to the terminal arrangement to a television system head end (5) and feeding it to a central station (3) that evaluates the signal with the aid of a speech recognition system (6) and transmits a corresponding signal back to the terminal arrangement depending on the speech recognition result.
