PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for direct or indirect data output/file output in a communication network, and relevant computer program products and a relevant computer readable storage medium, that are particularly applicable to display and/or print contents (contents of information) from the internet or other storage media through a terminal device. SOLUTION: The terminal device transmits at least the information necessary for accessing data/files (contents) to be output to a data processing unit. The data processing unit is controlled by a computer program to open the data/files to be output at their respective storage location. A print job is started for issuing the data/files. The print file resulting from the print job is embedded in a hypertext page, particularly a HTML or WML site, so that the data/file to be output is converted into a prespecifiable format. This hypertext page or the print file or the contents are then provided for recall in the communication network and the information necessary for accessing the provided data/files is sent to the terminal device. The terminal device subsequently automatically recalls the content from the communication network and issues it. Alternatively, the contents can be requested and issued by manual recall.
