摘要

PURPOSE:To improve travelling stability by having a lubricating layer consisting of a polar lubricant having a polar functional group and the specific dynamic viscosity at ordinary temp. or above and a lubricant of a specific dynamic viscosity or below on a magnetic recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating layer consisting of the high-viscosity lubricant having the polar functional group and >=30cSt dynamic viscosity at ordinary temp. and the low-viscosity lubricant having <=30cSt dynamic viscosity at ordi nary temp. and without having the polar functional groups exclusive of an ester or alkoxy group is formed on the magnetic recording layer, by which high lubricating performance is provided and the squeaking at the time of traveling and head clogging are effectively suppressed. The stability of traveling is thus improved. The magnetic recording layer to be formed on a substrate is formed by a method for depositing the ferromagnetic metal on a base body by a vapor deposition.
