<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for oral ingestion effective for prevention and/or therapy of NASH, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: A fermentation product of an immature papaya fruit having functionally excellent qualities that exhibits a hydroxy radical-eliminating activity of 80-2,000 μg/ml (IC50) or 0.2-5.0 μmol equivalent/mg in terms of Trolox is utilized as the composition for oral ingestion to prevent and treat non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.
