PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overhead pot for hot-dip plating in which hot-dip plating metal is naturally flowed out from a nozzle for spraying hot-dip plating metal and free from the remaining and sticking of the plating metal to the inside face of the nozzle. SOLUTION: Nozzles 6 spraying hot-dip plating metal on both faces of the surface and back of a steel strip 1 passing through an opening part formed at the bottom are provided slantly on the lower part in the pot. Hot-dip plating metal 7 is fed from headers 5 connected to a sub-pot to the nozzles 6, is sprayed on the steel strip 1 and is housed in a hot-dip plating metal housing part in the upper direction of the nozzles. The excess hot-dip plating metal 7 gets over overflow weirs 8 and is recovered from exhaust tubes 12 to the sub-pot. At the time of the stop of the plating, in the case that plugs 13 are pulled up, the hot-dip plating metal 7 in the nozzles 6 naturally flows down to the headers 5, undergoes exhaust tubes 14 and are recovers to the sub-pot.
