<p>PURPOSE:To provide several wound gland packings for the adjusting layer of external cable and with use of packing larger than the diameter of cable by cutting them to improve the seal effect and prevent the cable corrosion-proof layer from making scratch marks during cutting. CONSTITUTION:Adjusting layer 10 is provided for corrosion proof layer on the proper place of cable 2 by winding the adusting tape. By winding gland packing 4 around the external periphery of adjusting layer 10, cutting in the cable axis direction, and the gland packing 4 allows every turn longer than cable periphery length to make independent. Packing 4 is tightened with tightening metal 6 by mounting on the external periphery of the cable 2 positioned within step hole 5 of seal metal 3. This permits the gland packing 4 to deform inward to seal the clearance with the cable.</p> |
