PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of reducing deformation or falling-in of a mask surface resulting from the difference in the thermal expansion between a frame and shadow mask using a relatively simple structure and precluding deformation of areas in the neighborhood of the welding points. SOLUTION: A shadow mask 11 includes a mask surface 11b and a skirt part 11a provided at the peripheral edge of the mask surface 11b and furnished with welding points W1-W12 to be welded fast to the frame 17, wherein the skirt part 11a is furnished with slits 22 and 22a interposed between the welding points W1-W12 and the mask surface 11b.
