<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-liquid separator not disturbing exhaust of separated liquid and to provide a fuel cell system suitable for using the gas-liquid separator. <P>SOLUTION: The gas-liquid separator 10 is equipped with a container 11 introducing mixed fluid Fm containing steam, condensing and separating steam and storing in the lower part; a drain mechanism 12 exhausting recovered water w from the container 11 when the recovered water w stored in the lower part of the container 11 is raised than the prescribed liquid level; and a heating means 15 giving a heating value sterilizing bacteria becoming cause disturbing exhaust of the recovered water w from the container 11 to the recovered water w stored in the lower part of the container 11.
