摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an aperture ratio of a pixel in a display device equipped with a color filter and in its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: A pad electrode 14 to be connected to a thin film transistor TR is formed on a first substrate 10, and an interlayer insulating film 15 with the pad electrode 14 exposed thereon is formed. Subsequently, a photosensitive organic material is formed on the interlayer insulating film 15, and the photosensitive organic material on a region separated from a contact hole CH2 is exposed via a mask 41 having a transmission part 41W and an extended transmission part 41C continuous with an end portion of the transmission part 41W. Subsequently, the organic material is developed and an unnecessary portion is removed so as to form a color filter 16 separated from the contact hole CH2. End portions of the color filter 16 are nearly rectangular. With this constitution, a redundant area for forming the color filter 16 is reduced. Thereby the redundant area of a pixel 1 is reduced and the aperture ratio is more increased compared with conventional examples. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
