PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer gauge capable of enhancing visibility of a dial plate by forming part of the pointer with transparency, while making the visual quality of the pointer to be proper, by making design and brightness of a luminescent part of the pointer to be uniform. SOLUTION: While the light for illumination of the pointer 7 to be incident into interior of the pointer 7 is forced from a lateral surface 7b of the pointer 7, a red colored layer R is prepared on a base 7a of the pointer 7, which is interrupted along the way to prepare a transparent cut-off section M, and the cut-off section M is formed so as to overlap a figure 2a of the dial plate 2 in the visual direction. As a result, while making appearance of the luminescent part of the pointer 7 or the brilliance of the red colored layer R appear uniform and making looking of the pointer 7 to be proper as a continuously integrated design for viewing, a speed meter S can be provided which is capable of enhancing the visibility of figures 2a, as displaying a design for the dial plane 2.
