The present invention relates to an electrode assembly with improved safety and a secondary battery with the same. According to an aspect of the present invention, provided are the electrode assembly with improved safety wherein at least one heat-resisting film is inserted within the electrode assembly, which is composed of at least one unit cell with a basic structure composed of an anode, a separation film, and a cathode, and the secondary battery with the same. According to the present invention, the effects of insulating a needle shape and decreasing a short-circuit area of the needle shape and the electrode are obtained by inserting the heat-resisting film inside the battery, in the other words, inside the electrode assembly. According to the same, a local heating value is decreased by a decrease in an internal short-circuit current, thus a partial temperature increase inducing a thermal runaway of the battery is prevented. Therefore, the present invention is capable of providing the secondary battery wherein the safety with respect to environmental factors is fundamentally secured. |
