<p>A set of golf club heads, especially for wood-type clubs, in which each head has a pair of struts on the sole portion defining a cavity, the centres of gravity of the heads rising between the sole and top portions with loft increase through the set by means comprising increasing the depth of the sole cavity as loft increases, whereby the centre of gravity is at the optimum location in each head of the set. Preferred additional features include division of the sole cavity by struts which are parallel from the front of the head and then diverge toward the rear of the head, and the central portion of the sole cavity being open rearwardly of the head.</p> |
