This paper storage device is provided with: a pair of first and second transportation guides that form a transportation path for transporting paper in a predetermined transportation direction; a pair of first and second side guides disposed on both sides of the transportation path so that one surface of one of the side guides faces the corresponding surface of the other side guide, a width-restricting part for restricting the width of the transportation path being formed on the upstream side of the transportation direction on the one surface of each of the side guides, and a width-changing part for changing the width of the transportation path restricted by the width-restricting part, so that the width of the transportation path is gradually made narrower, being formed on the downstream side of the transportation direction relative to the width-restricting part; and a pair of first and second suppressing guides provided so as to protrude from the pair of first and second side guides toward the first transportation guide, the first and second suppressing guides suppressing the lifting of the paper when the end of the paper transported along the transportation path in the transportation direction deforms so as to curl toward the first transportation guide. |
