PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality image in an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises a supplying means having a toner carrier body 22 for carrying toner 21. It further comprises a control means having an opposing electrode 25 provided opposite the toner carrier body 22, a plurality of gates serving as passing sections for the toner provided on an insulation substrate, a two-layer electrode group provided around the gates 29, control electrodes 26 consisting of the electrode group constituted such that the opposing electrode 25 in the electrode group is divided into two parts and a control circuit means that applies a predetermined voltage to each electrode in the control electrode 26 corresponding to image data. The control means applies the predetermined voltage to the electrode, thereby controlling the toner 21 to pass through the gate 29 so that an image is formed on a surface of a recording medium 5 conveyed between the control electrode and opposing electrode 26. |
