<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain the subject micro coil capable of quantitatively providing a ceramic fiber, and useful for a composite material, etc., by lowering a base plate according to the growth of the micro coil so that the axis of a specific micro coil-like carbon may form a hollow coil. SOLUTION: This hollow micro fiber is a hollow carbon micro coil having a pitch of the coil of substantially 0 and obtained by lowering a base plate according to the growth of the micro coil so that the carbon micro coil may be very compactly and regularly wound so that the wires of the carbon micro coil may adhere to each other, and the axis of the micro carbon coil may form the hollow coil when carrying out a gas phase synthesis of the micro coil-like carbon by a catalyst activated CVD method, or a hollow ceramic micro coil, a part or the whole of which is formed out of a metal oxide, a metal carbonate or a metal nitride. The hollow ceramic micro fiber is preferably produced by fusing a part or the whole of the adjacent coil-forming part of the micro coil.</p> |
