PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a program for equipment control for controlling to achieve a useful service by making equipment and a sensor connected through a communication network collaborate with each other and a recording medium with the program stored thereon. SOLUTION: An equipment control device 1 automatically detects equipment connected to communication networks 2B, 2C or configurations of functions of the equipment. The control program implementing a control function for achieving a useful service adequate for the equipment or the configurations of the functions is retrieved from an external control program server 3 for storing a control program corresponding to a plurality of equipment configurations by using the equipment or the configurations of the functions as a retrieval key. A user downloads the control program by automatically or by user's selection and selects/executes or automatically executes the control program allowing the user to achieve a target service among the downloaded control programs then the control device achieves the control of the equipment.
