PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the position of the drive limit of a focus lens can be determined without increasing accuracy in mounting the reset sensor of the focus lens. SOLUTION: From the position of the focus lens when the subject at a predetermined distance is focused in a predetermined zoom position(step S602), an amount of backlash of the mounted reset sensor is calculated (step S603) and, thus, the position of the drive limit is determined.
