PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thick-and-thin yarn having high alkali resistance and using sheath/core-type conjugate fibers each composed of a biomass polymer as the core and a petroleum-based polymer as the sheath, and to provide an eco-friendly woven/knitted fabric excellent in design feeling, dry touch, moist heat resistance, dry heat resistance and color fastness, using such a thick-and-thin yarn. SOLUTION: The thick-and-thin yarn is obtained using the sheath/core-type conjugate fibers each composed of a biomass polymer as the core and a petroleum-based polymer as the sheath, wherein preferably, the biomass polymer is polylactic acid, and the petroleum-based polymer is polyethylene terephthalate.
