PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for easily and simply obtaining a molded article with a desired shape by a heat sagging process. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a molded article, the glass stock to be molded is arranged on the molding face of a molding mold, and the glass stock to be molded arranged on the molding face of the molding mold is heat-treated, thereby molding the upper face of the glass stock to be molded to mold a molded article. As the molding mold, the one with a molding face shape decided based on the estimated deformation of the glass stock to be molded depending on the thickness of the glass stock to be molded is used.
